Communiqué de Presse - 24 Heures Motos
Le Mans, 22 July 2018

Register for the 24 Hours Karting 2018,
there is still time!

Attention, you only have four days left to enter the 33th edition of the 24 Hours Karting, organized on September 29 and 30. The closing date for registration is Saturday, September 1st.

The winning team of the FIA Karting Endurance Championship will have the honour of being invited to the official CIK-FIA awards ceremony along with the European and World Champions of the other categories.
The ACO wanted to reward the winners of the GP2 category with an exceptional prize: the winners will receive VIP access to the last round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), an unforgettable experience at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019.

The entry list is already full and the French teams face strong competition in 2018 with significant international participation. The colours of Great Britain, Italy, Romania, Czechia and Belgium will be represented. As part of the prestigious FIA Karting Endurance Championship, the GP1 category, powered by the powerful OK engines, has attracted more competitors this year. The CRG and Sodikart factory teams will once again have to face private teams well-versed in endurance races who will have the advantage of great experience of the discipline. The arrival at Le Mans of two very specialised Czech teams brings a new element to the race for the title, as the movement of some specialists from GP2 to GP1.

Star sprint drivers will be present once again, to the delight of spectators and other participants, bringing undeniable added value to the event. For the CRG team, World Champions Paolo De Conto (ITA) and Pedro Hiltbrand (ESP) will be joined by Callum Bradshaw (GBR) and Andrea Rosso (ITA), while Sodi will also line up a World Champion, Tom Joyner (GBR), alongside Anthony Abbasse (FRA), Bas Lammers (NLD) and Alex Irlando (ITA). The provisional list of entries confirms the current trend of a confrontation between experienced drivers, including several former winners, and young talents determined to dethrone their elders. This will be particularly true for the GP3 Wintec Kartagene crew, with the lowest average age on the board, including two ACO Volant winners, Lukas Papin and Mathis Poulet, who are on track to join the FFSA's Pôle Espoir at Le Mans soon.

The programme also includes a junior cadet race and a demonstration of historic karts from the 2000s. All weekend, spectators will also enjoy leisure karting and simulators.

Lastly, Group 1 2018 regulations have just been slightly modified to allow the use of three engines in each team, as in previous years.

Below are the updated rules and the registration form to reserve your place before 1st September on the starting grid of the 33th edition, on September 29th and 30th at Le Mans.
